Forum Rules and Guidlines PDF Print E-mail

If you can remember these simple rules, your time at Newfound Vitality will be a lot easier. These are all the Nv rules simplified, it does not get any EASIER then what you about to read! Use common sense when posting and using the site. To add always condone a professional manner whilst being here and bottom line have your fun but be smart about it and stick to the rules...

-No adult(sexual of any nature) content on the website;

-No foul language; keep it PG.

-Remain respectful of other users at all times

-We have members from different countries, religions, backgrounds. Even if you express a point of view that is very popular in your culture, it may generate a negative reaction from members in another part of the world so please exercise tact. Racism is not tolerated on this forum, and removal of the person in question will be the end action of such remarks.

-Treat others how you want to be treated, and if you want to be treated with disrespect - click the 'X' in your browser window and do not return.

-Always try to "give" back to our community. For each time you find help or answers here at Newfound Vitality, try to help someone else out in return. You may find that what goes around comes around...

-No reputation abuse; reputation is a way to judge a persons character on the forum. Worthless [minus] or [positive] reputations will be removed, and fines, suspensions, or even bans will be given out.

-Give people a little time to respond to your requests. There's a lot going on in these forums and it may take a little time for people to notice and respond to your request. Please be patient.

Now onto the FUN BIT....

-NO Blatant Advertising. This forum is not free advertising space.

-Do not post copyright-infringing material

-Do not upload, attach, or otherwise post any copyrighted material which you are not free to redistribute (subject to the licensing terms of the specific item). If you have a question about having permission to post or attach a specific item, please ask a moderator.

-We do NOT condone nor accept posts pertaining to illegal activities such as hacking, cracking, warez, or spam.
Any posts or threads found in violation of this rule will be edited or deleted, and the poster warned or possibly banned; at the moderation team's discretion.

  • NO TROLLING, FLAME WARS OR "HEAVY TRASH TALKING"
Trolling and/or attempting to bait others into a flame war will not be tolerated. Any posts we deem to fall in this category will be deleted. This includes inflammatory comments about vendors and/or other people.

  • POST IN THE APPROPRIATE FORUM
Please read each forum description before posting to ensure you are posting in the correct forum. Off topic posts will be moved to the correct forum.

  • NO DUPLICATE OR REPEAT POSTS aka SPAM!
If no-one answers your question or responds to your post, please "bump" it rather than posting it again. Posting the same question over and over or in every forum will just annoy people and will not get answers.

  • THREAD HIJACKING
Taking a thread off-topic to pursue one's own agenda.

  • BANNED MEMBERS
Posting for someone who is banned can warrant up to a site ban. Additionally, creating a new account to post if you have been banned is strictly prohibited and if a full I.P ban must be done then so be it...

  • DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
Do not disclose any other member's email, real name, address, phone number, IP address, or other personal information. This includes the posting contents of emails and private messages without the sender's consent. Do not bring personal disputes into the forums. Bans and warnings issued to other users are considered personal information.

  • DISCUSSION OF ILLEGAL DRUGS
Discussion of illegal drugs should be kept within academic or newsworthy limits only. "How to" discussions and "I'm so stoned" posts may result in repercussions ranging from a warning to immediate and permanent banning, depending on previous history, context of post and nature/content of post.

  • PLAYING THE ROLE OF MODERATOR
You're not a moderator so don't correct posters like one. If you have a problem with a post, use the "Report This Post" button, rather than playing the parent. More often than not, that causes more problems than it fixes. Let us handle what is ours to handle.

  • ATTACKING/DISOBEYING THE MODERATORS OR ADMINISTRATORS
If you disagree with something the moderators did, fine, disagree and let us know, but do it politely through PM or email. Dancing around the rules, purposely skirting them just to see us twitch will not help you out much, either.

-All posts should be mature and courteous. You have every right to disagree with your fellow community members and explain your perspective. However, you are not free to attack, degrade, insult, or otherwise belittle them or the quality of this community. It does not matter what title or power you hold in these forums, you are expected to obey this rule. Doing otherwise will get your account banned temporarily, or permanently if the situation becomes severe enough (this will be left to the discretion of the moderation team).

-Ignorant Trouble Making If you are thought to be causing trouble by a moderator, you will be removed from the forum. This includes leading another poster into a thread or “board trap” where one member tries to make the other one snap by messaging them or subtly suggesting something that would cause one to argue back. Our staff is fair and if they pass judgment that you are here to cause problems, you will be removed. NO QUESTIONS ASKED. We have had enough problems here in the past and would like to operate in a civil manner. This is a publicly run website and will be treated like that for the members.

THE THREE STRIKE RULE...

If you violate one of the rules and/or the staff feel that you have:

The 1st step is a slap on the wrists with a warning - You will receive a PM or even a infraction in some cases as to why this has happened and your warning meter will increase. Only staff and yourself will know the levels of warnings so no one else will know what your level is at or why you have gotten these. Keeping Drama to a minimum...

The 2nd step is to remove your posting rights either 24 Hours or for one (1) week.

The 3rd step is to remove your permanently from the community.

Any post/thread that Lavaly deems inappropriate for family viewing will be dealt with accordingly. If you have any questions about actions taken against a post/thread please PM the appropriate forum's Moderator(s). Please remember that this is a family-oriented message board. All rules violations will be dealt with swiftly, up to and including a permanent ban of the user account. We reserve the right to delete posts/threads at our discretion.

Your Art....

  • SIGNATURES
The maximum allowed for sig pics is 3 x 500 in width by 200 in height for all images (i.e. all images that you use have to fit in a 500 x 200 specs). The maximum file size should be no more than 150kb.
You can use up to 5 lines of text, including spaces (each line no more than 80 characters in length). Obviously if you have less than 3 pics and have more lines of text we can let things slide but do use your initiative and help the bandwidth.

  • AVATARS
Should be no more than 100 width by 100 in hight. The Forum software automatically resizes the Avatar's - However the bytes remain the same as the original size.
It is very important that you stick to 15kb and ensure that before you set your avatar that it doesn't exceed the dimensions and size set out above.

  • IMAGE FORMATS
Please use Image Formats: *.JPEG or *.PNG.
These are smaller in size than *.BMP.
So if you are using a *.BMP Signature, please change it to *.JPEG or *.PNG.
Doing so will speed up page loads.

Avatars & Sigs; Keep them clean and appropriate. Determination of what is clean and/or appropriate is at the sole discretion of the admins and mods. Violators will be warned and will be banned if further action is not taken in making the required changes to fit the rules and regulations. Consider this your first and final warning. If you think your sig or avatar may be inappropriate, it probably is, so don't risk the warnings and further steps that may be taken. This will be strictly enforced, regardless of who the perpetrator is.
